Keys for Growth is an organization dedicated to supporting early childhood professionals as they work to promote the growth and development of children.
Keys for Growth strives to bring quality, meaningful, and interactive trainings to teachers in an enjoyable and accessible way.
Sheila George,Training Director at Keys for Growth, is an Early Childhood Development Specialist, who graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Education. She has worked as a homecare provider, a preschool teacher and director, and a before and after school group leader, director and coordinator. Sheila has also been a supervisor of a Family Support Program, and a public school teacher. She is currently an approved MSDE trainer, a Zero to Three trainer, a certified PreK CLASS observer, and an Early Childhood Coach. She has also worked for Robert Leslie Publishing Company as a consultant and trainer for their curriculum. Sheila has always enjoyed working with children and students of all ages in a variety of educational settings, and has been working with children and teachers for over 25 years. She has been proud of her work with Johns Hopkins Center for Technology in Education to support the roll out of the Early Learning Assessment (ELA) and the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) in Maryland and other states. Sheila’s work as an MSDE approved trainer, and a trainer and coach for the new MSDE PreK curriculum, Children Study Their World, allows her to share her passion for education with individuals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.
Virtual Training Protocols
For Virtual Trainings participants are required to be visible on camera/video and to use a laptop or computer. This is an MSDE requirement. (Cell phones are not acceptable because they do provide access to all of the participation features required for interactive participation. Tablets are acceptable.) Participants are also expected to participate in the chat box and breakout room activities during the training. Virtual Training will be held on Zoom and registration through Zoom will be required.
All participants are required to sign in in order to receive their certificates; if their name is not on the sign-in sheet they are not eligible to receive a certificate.
Participants must arrive to the trainings promptly; anyone arriving more than 15 minutes after the training has started will not be able to receive full credit and a certificate for the training.
